My Thoughts:
I enjoyed this book. Gabby is a surgeon who once upon a time saved Hawk's life. Hawk is actually SWAT member Shane Hawkins and now it is his turn to save hers. Seeing her being kidnapped, he saves her but now he has to keep her safe. Unsure if she knows more than she is saying, Shane is conflicted on what to do because his head and his heart are at war. He vows to keep her safe and help Gabby find out exactly what is going on.
I remember both Gabby and Hawk from a previous book (actually when they met!). I loved how the book started with action right out of the gate. There was no slow build up but instant action. That pulled me into the story that really didn't slow down. I really liked Gabby and how assertive she was and could take care of herself. I also liked how Hawk was going to protect her one way or the other. The other characters in the story were great and I didn't figure out exactly who the bad guy was before the reveal so that was nice!
It was a 4/5 for me. I liked all the characters and the story's pace was great.
Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book (via netgalley). I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
