Network of Deceit by Tom Threadgill

Book Description:

Amara Alvarez's first case as a homicide detective drags her into the murky world of computer hackers. When she finds herself under attack by cybercriminals, she has no choice but to use unconventional methods to expose the truth and find a killer.

My Thoughts:

This was a book that once I started, I didn't want to put it down because there was so much going on and I really wanted to figure it out.  The title suggests that the crime is cyber and well, it is.  I liked Amara and how the author continues to develop her character in this book (it is actually book 2 in the series, but you can read it as a stand alone).

The relationships the author shows are intriguing.  He captures Amara's life and relationships quite well on paper and I enjoyed it.  There are mysteries, questions with seemingly no answers and it is quite fast-paced.  I liked that cyber crimes weren't explained well over my head, but at a level that made sense.  It was a really good read.

4/5.

Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book.  I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
