Book Description
The New York Times bestselling Elemental Assassin series continues with a new e-novella--from the point of view of Finnegan Lane, the foster brother of Gin Blanco, and a fan favorite of readers of the series.
The fallout from his disastrous “family reunion” in Bitter Bite has left Finn feeling hurt, angry, and depressed. He can barely stand to look at himself in the mirror, much less eat any of the delicious barbecue from Gin’s famed Pork Pit restaurant.
But when the funeral for a slain security guard at his bank turns into a showdown with some nasty underworld giants, Finn knows that he must act in order to protect an innocent family.
Finnegan Lane might be the most unwanted man in Ashland these days, but he’s determined to try to make amends for his past mistakes...

My Thoughts:
I completely enjoyed this novella. I was wondering how Fin would work through killing his mother to save Gin and the author did a great job with this story. Fin is the least liked person at his work after what everyone believes he helped his mother do (in the last Elemenetal Assassin book). He takes the glares, nasty comments and feels he deserves it. All because he didn't listen to everyone when they told him his mother was no good.
Now, he goes to the funerals of the giant guards that died in the robbery attempt. Not many know what Fin endured while he was in the basement but he doesn't plan to tell them. He is determined to keep those that were left behind by the murders alive and safe. Even if they don't want his help and he has to put himself in danger.
If you've read the Elemental Assassin books, you have to read this 5/5. If you haven't read them, you need to!
