Book Description:
Although the widowed Lady Rebecca has sworn off marriage, men are another matter. London's cold winter nights have her dreaming of warmer pursuits-like finding a lover to satisfy her hungry heart. Someone handsome, discreet, and most importantly as uninterested in marriage as she is. Someone like Jack Fulton. A known adventurer and playboy, Jack seems like the perfect choice. There's just one problem: Jack isn't interested in an affair. He needs the beautiful, mysterious Lady Rebecca to be his wife. And he doesn't have much time to persuade her. A secret from Jack's past is about to surface, and by Christmas Day he'll be either married to Rebecca or dead.
My Thoughts:
This was a good romantic book! Lady Rebecca or Becky to her friends is still hurting from her marriage and the pain her husband put her through. She decides it is time she takes a lover and Jack Fulton seems to fit the description perfectly. Jack is a 'ladies man' but has his own agenda. Her only stipulations to the relationship is the man can't be abusive and he can't want marriage. Jack needs marriage, and he need it by Christmas, or else!
I immediately loved Becky! She was such a wonderful lady and has been through so much. Jack is a great guy, with a bit of an interesting past. The romance in this book is great and the characters are so real! I like that it wasn't a crazy, out there romance but a realistic one. Very good writing and character development.
I rate this a 4/5. A good book to curl up and read by the fireplace!
