Book Description
The woman tensed. As anger and fear ricocheted across her face, her eyes changed from red to green to brown in a dizzying display like nothing he'd ever seen.
Every instinct in Angelo's body screamed at him to lunge for his weapon. Instead he set his feet for impact, blocking her slashing claws. Unbelievably, after a few moments of struggling, she went still, all the fight gone...
Minka isn't sure she should trust the sexy Special Forces soldier who found her. Subjected to horrors, on the run from scientists set on locking her in a cage, Minka is terrified of the monster she's becoming...and somehow, Angelo is the only one who can calm the beast inside her and make her feel safe.
But can she trust the way he makes her feel when she's not even sure she can trust herself?
My Thoughts:
Good book. Angelo is used to seeing the weird things of the world but he wasn't prepared for Minka. She is dangerous, but wonderful. He should be afraid of her, but he is drawn to her and wants to protect her. Minka doesn't know why Angelo makes her feel safe, but it is a wonderful feeling after all that she has been through. Now Angelo has to deal with the facility and doctors he is forced to bring her to and also his blooming feelings for her.
I had read previous books in this series so I already knew most of the characters here. It was fun getting to know Angelo and Minka and how their relationship grew. I felt so sorry for Minka and the other hybrids. The experiments done to them were terrible. Angelo was great with her and I enjoyed watching him fight his feelings for her (though he didn't try too hard). I can't wait to see what happens next with these characters.
It was a 4/5 for me. I really liked seeing some answers to questions from previous books in the series.
