Bloodlines by Kendra C. Highley

Matt Archer: Bloodlines (Matt Archer #4)Book Description:
When seventeen-year-old Matt Archer set out on his last mission in the Australian Outback, he thought it would be like every other hunt.

Not even close.

After only two days on the ground, his best friend is possessed, a long-lost family member has returned and hidden truths have come to the surface. Add in a coven of witches bent on bringing about the end of the world and, well, this trip has started to suck. Badly.

As his power and strength continue to grow, so does Matt’s concern that he’s becoming more and more like the creatures he’s been charged to hunt: a monster.

Faced with some of his biggest challenges to date, Matt has to decide what he needs to protect most—his family, his team…or himself.

My Thoughts:
Let me start with saying, this is the 4th in a series and picks up where book 3 left off.  If you haven't read the series, start with book one and fall in love with Matt Archer!  Now 17, Matt has a handle on things, ok not really.  Especially when a long lost family member shows up.  The end is quickly approaching and they must be ready for it.  Battling monsters. hunting, girls, family....all this shows Matt has issues on every level.
There isn't a LOT I can say about the story line that isn't a spoiler.  The action was great, definitely there.  The characters though were awesome!  I wasn't sure what I was going to think of the family member that returned.  I was ready to dislike him, but I didn't.  Matt has grown and changed so much, maturing and coming into himself.  The book's title tells you that blood (family) is important in this book and it absolutely is.  There is a good mix of adventure, action, romance, but written really well from a teenage boy's view.  Matt thought how I would expect a normal teen boy to think (well on most things).  I really am ready for the next book!
For those who have read this series, I rate this a 5/5.  If you haven't read it and are interested, start with book one and get hooked.

Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book.  I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
