Simply Irresistable by Jill Shalvis

Book Description:
Maddie Moore's whole life needs a makeover..
In one fell swoop, Maddie loses her boyfriend (her decision) and her job (not her decision). But rather than drowning her sorrows in bags of potato chips, Maddies leaves L.A. to claim the inheritance left by her free-spirited mother - a ramshackle inn nestled in the coastal town of Lucky Harbor, Washington.
Starting over won't be easy. Yet Maddie sees the potential for a new home and a new career - if only she can convince her two half-sisters to join her in the adventure. But convincing Tara and Chloe will be difficult because the inn needs a big makeover too.
The contractor Maddie hires is a tall, dark-haired hottie whose eyes - and mouth - are making it hard for her to remember that she's sworn off men. Even harder will be Maddie's struggles to overcome the past, though she's about to discover that there's no better place to call home than Lucky Harbor.

My Thoughts:
I really enjoyed this book. I would say it was fun but there were some super serious parts! Maddie has decided to start over. She's left her abusive boyfriend, job and life behind and moved to Lucky Harbor. She and her half sisters have inherited an inn from their late mother. Along the way she runs into, almost literally, Jax. Jax is a super sexy former lawyer, mayor of the city, carpenter, and all around good guy. Maddie has sworn off men but Jax is making her change her mind, slowly, but he is a man who takes his time!
I thought this was a really fun book. The serious parts are well written and very realistic but they aren't 'overpowering'. I love the chemistry between Jax and Maddie that she swears doesn't exist. Both characters are so great. Maddie, always the peacemaker and though she is hot thinks she is ultra plain. Jax who is a good guy but has to keep secrets and gets caught in the middle of things more often than not. The supporting characters are great as well, I love both the sisters. Of course I also am completely in love with both Jax good friends.
I rate it a 4/5. I'm going to definitely read the rest in the series!
